1927

Eugène Sauvage founded the company in Ribeyre, in an old papermill hamlet, entirely abandoned, where he restored an ancient paper mill and installed wooden weaving looms. Thanks to the mill, he benefited from the energy provided by water to power the looms and generate electricity to light the workshops. He owned 2,000 spindles and primarily manufactured flat laces, shoelaces, serpentine ribbons, garter tabs, etc., which he produced as subcontracting work.

1955

At the age of 63, Eugène Sauvage launched the manufacturing of new products such as rayon-based insulating sheaths and worked as a subcontractor for a unique client. 1959

Eugène Sauvage retired and handed over his company to his son-in-law Marcel Favier. The latter expanded the existing buildings and repurchased the machinery. For market needs, he ventured into glass fiber weaving, which he continued to produce as a subcontractor. He owned 2,000 spindles and primarily manufactured flat laces, shoelaces, serpentine ribbons, garter tabs, etc., which he produced as subcontracting work.

1973

The company Tresses and Plastics of Livradois (TPL) was founded. The family business was split in two: one part of braiding remained in Ribeyre while the other part, which became the varnish plant and product finishing plant, relocated to

1974 - 1975

The company Tresses and Plastics of Livradois (TPL) was founded. The main client of the company faced major difficulties; it then decided to manufacture finished products. Marcel Favier was joined by his two sons Michel and Jean-Claude. Michel takes charge of the Bertignat site and Jean-Claude of the Ribeyre site. The company ventured into the production of insulating sheaths and diversified its customer base.

1984

Work yields its fruits with a figure that regularly increases year after year. Marcel Favier retired and was succeeded by Jean-Claude who became responsible for quality. Nicole Favier, wife of Michel, takes responsibility for accounting

1985

The company purchases its first high-speed looms.

1990

The company, which mainly exports to Italy, expands to other countries after hiring a sales manager.

1994

Acquisition of ISO 9002 certification following a three-year compliance process.

2000

The company directs part of its braiding activity towards composite braiding, while simultaneously purchasing a machine specially designed for this type of production, and also signing a partnership with a carbon fiber producer.

2001

Following the hiring three years earlier of a Quality Anticipation and Strategic Monitoring manager, the company is certified ISO 9001:2000.

2004

The Bertignat site expanded the braiding floor area by 1,500 m² with the construction of a relay factory.

2005

The Favier group acquired the Italian company SIGI in order to expand its presence on the Italian market.

2006

High temperature sheaths (SCS heat-shrinkable (GTR) expand the range of Favier products.

2007

To better serve and welcome its customers, the commercial department of Favier TPL is strengthened and sees its offices expand.

2011

After more than 35 years of presence in FAVIER TPL company, with 25 years in management, Nicole and Michel hand over to the fourth generation. Mathieu becomes the new director of FAVIER TPL.

2012

Relocation of the SIGI factory to new facilities.

2013

Creation of a Joint Venture in India.

2016

Closure of the Ambert site and consolidation of activities at the Bertignat site

2019

Obtaining EN 45545 certification

2022

Expansion of the SIGI site and construction of a second building

2024

Industrial establishment in Tunisia with the creation of Favier Tunisia
